The Direct Challenge is back and it's bigger than ever
The Direct Challenge is back and it's bigger than ever

The Direct Challenge initiative from An Post Commerce and IAPI is back again to celebrate the best Direct Mail campaigns and reward the brilliant people behind them. Because the response we received last year was so great, we’re making our challenge even bigger.

We want teams of two to band together to produce a Direct Mail campaign based on one of our categories. After that, you have complete creative freedom. Agencies and brands can put multiple teams forward and everyone is welcome to take part, whether a creative or not. Closing date for entries is May 14th, so be sure to register your team before then.

Four New Categories

To give you greater freedom to showcase the flexible power of Direct Mail, we’re rewarding campaigns in four different categories. If you’ve produced a Direct Mail campaign in the past 12 months that you’re really proud of, you can enter it as an Existing Campaign. Or you can enter a wholly new Direct Mail piece for any brand you like, whether they’re a client or not, as either Charity, B2B or B2C.

The Prizes
The Prizes

Your work will be judged by a panel of advertising luminaries, headed by John O’Driscoll a multiple award-winning Art Director and founding partner of Lowe Howard-Spink.

There will be individual prizes for all four of our category winners. The very best of these will also win our incredible Grand Prix: a trip to the 2020 Cannes Lions Festival. The winner of our Grand Prix will fly to Cannes, with accommodation and a full week’s pass to experience everything the festival has to offer. All winners will be announced at an exclusive event later in the summer.

Some of the most creative advertising campaigns of recent times have used Direct Mail as their central medium.

To get an idea of what our judges will be looking for, check out some of last year’s best entries here, as well as our Book of Inspiration, a collection of brilliant award-winning Direct Mail campaigns from around the globe we hope inspire you to produce a winning entry.
