World of Work Wrap Up Celebration
World of Work Wrap Up Celebration

IAPI this week celebrated the final session of the Business in The Community & IAPI World of Work programme on Wednesday the 24th of April. As the name suggests, the ‘Wrap Up Celebration' marks the completion of the programme for all the participants from Holy Child Community School, Sallynoggin.

This session provides an opportunity for the students to showcase what they have learned and to acknowledge the contributions of everyone from the individual agencies who supported the programme over the last 8 months.

The program is built around five separate school engagements themed around creativity, sustainability, career paths, site visits and soft skills that need to be developed at this early stage for a successful career path.

The World of Work programme is just one of several initiatives IAPI are engaged with to highlight the Creative Commercial Communications sector to students who for a multitude of reasons may not be aware of opportunities our sector has to offer.

We are so grateful for the contributions we received from the IAPI membership during this initiative - Ad Net Zero Ireland, ACNE, Droga5 Dublin, Edelman, Sweartaker, The Public House, THINKHOUSE, Verve.

Without individual agency help we could not deliver such a strong programme for the students involved.

This is the fourth year that IAPI and our members have collaborated with Business in The Community and Holy Child National School.

"Students have already chosen to study third level courses and further ed courses around advertising, media studies, illustration, and animation having been directly inspired by this programme." - Owen McGowan, Guidance Counsellor, Holy Child Community School.

"I’m sure the students had a great time and what a unique experience for them to see some of the exciting career pathways within the industry." - Alison Norman, Regional Co-ordinator, Business in The Community.
