TBWA\Dublin have launched their first book entitled ‘Hindsight 2020’. Made by a team of their own in-house creative talent, as well as illustrators and artists they worked with throughout the year, the book takes a wry look at phrases that encapsulate the “new normal”.

Each page of the book is filled with imagination and illustration that captures the mood of the year. It includes original artwork by well-known artists such as Fatti Burke, Jacky Sheridan and Mark Frudd, as well as Designers, Art Directors and Finished Artists from within TBWA\Dublin.

Their challenge was to bring life to the phrases that summed up 2020 – including “You’re on mute”, “Excuse the background noise” and the classic “Can you see my screen?”.

The profits of the book, which is available for purchase now on the TBWA\Dublin website, will be donated to the agencies pro-bono partner Translators without Borders – a global non-profit organization offering language and translation support for humanitarian and development agencies.

“2020 has been a strange year for us all and tragic for some - our hearts go out to each and every person who has been impacted by this pandemic," said Deirdre Waldron, CEO at TBWA\Dublin. However, there is a not-so-serious side for those of us fortunate enough to be WFH. We wanted to create something that would capture this."

"Our own creative talents, along with some of the fantastic artists we’ve worked with this year, have done a brilliant job of visualising the classic phrases we’ve all used this year. And of course, we’re delighted to be donating the profits of the book are going to our pro-bono partner, Translators without Borders.”
