Dublin Zoo has signed its second five-year partnership agreement with SSE Airtricity which will see Ireland’s largest provider of 100% green energy continue in its role as official Sustainability Partner to Ireland’s most popular family attraction.

As part of the five-year Sustainability Partnership, SSE Airtricity will continue to supply all facilities at the 28-hectare park in the heart of Dublin city with 100% renewable electricity. The energy supply deal builds on Dublin Zoo and SSE Airtricity’s commitment to encourage zoo visitors to learn more about the positive impact of sustainability.

To celebrate SSE Airtricity’s continued commitment to Dublin Zoo, for the first time ever, one lucky family will have the chance to sleep over at Dublin Zoo. The exclusive competition offers one family the chance to win an overnight stay, followed by an exclusive zoo-keeper tour and movie night during their unique glamping experience at Dublin Zoo this summer.

The winning family will stay overnight in the iconic restored historical building, Haughton House, where they may be able to hear the Asian elephants, birds, and many other wonderful animals during their stay. To enter the competition and win the overnight stay, families are asked to visit the designated SSE Airtricity webpage.

What else to expect at Dublin Zoo this summer

There will be a designated Eco Explorers Weekend on Saturday, 16 July and Sunday, 17 July, along with the unveiling of a new sustainability character at Dublin Zoo this summer. The new Eco Explorers Trail and Discovery Carts will also be packed full of unique facts and information about the animals at Dublin Zoo and the conservation programmes they support.

The Roar and Snore competition is also being replicated for SSE Airtricity Reward customers this summer, where they can also avail of a 20% discount for trips to Dublin Zoo.
