Forget rainy cottages or Parisian cafes, aeroplane ambience may be the way forward for your background vibes.
Forget rainy cottages or Parisian cafes, aeroplane ambience may be the way forward for your background vibes.

To show just how relaxing it is to fly with them, Aer Lingus and Showrunner, Verve’s in-house ad agency, have released three calming ambience videos: Clear Sky, Night Sky, and Sunset.

YouTube ambience videos have enjoyed quite a boom recently, with many turning to these beautifully animated backdrops and SFX to add relaxing vibes to their homes. Some are more than 24 hours in length and it’s thanks to this longevity that the New York Times discovered a curious phenomenon over the past few years: an unprecedented amount of people were finding these tracks, like cafe sounds and white noise, at the top of their Spotify wrapped year on year.

These background videos are made to immerse people in new, soothing environments while they relax, read, write, sleep, or work - all of which one would usually find themselves doing while travelling by plane.

Sam Moorhead, Showrunner’s Creative Partner, said: “We wanted people to look at Aer Lingus and know how stress free they are as an airline, always prioritising people and top quality service. We figured dovetailing Aer Lingus’s comforting nature with ambience videos would be a match made in heaven... or at least in the upper atmosphere. This unique branded content lets people experience the snug window seat with the mesmerising view of a shamrock wingtip and some soothing aeroplane soundscapes to boot - all from the comfort of their homes, phones, and laptops.”

With a run time of 8 hours to ensure some truly deep relaxation, these three beautiful environments were made in collaboration with the team over at Napkin Studios. Experience all three today over on Aer Lingus’s YouTube.
