BBDO Dublin has made another key internal promotion at the outset of the new year, with Barry O’Sullivan stepping into the newly created role of Digital Project Director.

The Cannes Lion winner joined the agency as a digital producer in 2011 and has progressed through the changing digital landscape, producing award-winning and innovative work for the Road Safety Authority, Tourism Northern Ireland, WaterWipes and more.

As evidence of the innovation O’Sullivan has delivered, he has racked up the kinds of awards that evade most creative agencies, notably at the Webbys and the Lovies, reflecting the creation of ground-breaking firsts in virtual reality, augmented reality, games and the metaverse. What’s more, his skills are sought throughout the BBDO network as he has built network relationships working on projects with BBDO in LA and Poland.

Jess Derby, head of content and production said: “Barry has a unique skillset in our industry: an understanding of brands and their place in the world as well the ability to bring fresh thinking in the tech space to help them”.

Ed Leamy, head of innovation added: “Barry’s default is fresh thinking. He has consistently been committed to raising digital standards within our industry by embracing new technology. All of us at BBDO are excited for the future as Barry moves into his new role.”
