Join us for an inspiring morning to celebrate and discuss the importance of creativity in today’s changing marketing landscape.
We'll be joined by Executive Creative Director Joel Arbez from Grey Canada who will showcase some of his inspiring work and how it effected change.
We'll also hear a client's perspective from Niall O'Grady, Managing Director, 123.ie and Director of Distribution, RSA on the value that creativity has brought to their business.
The event will close with a discussion panel to look at the issue from every angle; creativity, planning, strategy and media featuring Sandra Alvarez, Managing Director, Spark Foundry, Aoife Murphy, Executive Strategy Director, Boys + Girls, and Dylan Cotter, Executive Creative Director, BBDO Dublin.
In his 15-year career, Joel has worked at some of Canada’s top creative agencies including DDB, WAX, Trigger and Rethink where not only did he land his first creative director gig but was chosen to be only one of three Creatives to open their Toronto office. Moving to Saatchi & Saatchi in 2013 as Head of Art/Group Creative Director, Joel helped elevate the agency from #43 in Canadian rankings to winning the coveted ADCC Scarlet Letter for Agency of the Year in 2014.
Joel took on an ECD job at Grey Canada, in 2016, propelling them to #1 on the Bullet Report. His work has been awarded nationally and internationally from Cannes and One Show to Communication Arts and London International. In May of this year, Joel opened his own freelance company Babygrampa and while he’s not creating advertising, he creates artwork, illustrates children’s books and carves wood. With a very sharp knife.
Apart from short flings in other agencies here and there, Dylan has spent all of his life including weekends in BBDO’s Dublin office. He began as a copywriter and moved upwards quickly by using words like indefatigable, sycophancy and osmosis.
He has been ECD for five years, and during that time the agency has experienced its greatest successes awards wise, with recognition at D&AD, One Show, Epica, Cannes, Webbys and Epica, but (like lots of agencies) it has also gone through its most intense period of change. The scope and metabolism of creativity has radically amped up, and continues to – which is exciting and hard, and which we’ll hopefully chat lots about on the day!
