As a Social Media Account Manager in OMD, you will play a critical role within a key client team taking responsibility for the overall social strategy, driving the creation of brilliant work and delivering exceptional client service.

Under the guidance of the OMD Business Director and the Head of Digital, you will work closely with the team and specialist functions (such as programmatic, display, above the line media) to manage consistent and excellent execution of social strategies. The role will be client based for one day a week.

You will be expected to embrace OMD’s approach of ‘Better Decisions Faster’; always striving to deliver more effective and innovative campaigns for our clients. You will be supported by the wider social media team in OMD who have a strong and established relationship with the client.

OMD Ireland’s client teams operate in an integrated structure, with digital specialists working closely with members of the team who manage above the line media. Your role is to lead the social media output, whilst keeping other members of the client team fully up to speed and involved in the social planning process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create Social Media strategies for all social platforms and build client roadmaps ensuring integration with other channels.
  • Demonstrate strong copy writing skills and adhere to brand pillars and objectives/tone of voice/key message etc.
  • Daily copy production - propose editorial themes and grow them into daily posts, competitions and conversation points
  • Oversee the day to day management of each account ensuring best practice is being adhered to and client targets are met, adding value with innovative thought and suggestions
  • Take responsibility for the finance process, billing, running a PO tracker and flagging issues and solutions when necessary
  • Lead reporting and social listening for the client ensuring the reports are timely, useful and team resource is managed effectively in their delivery including social landscape and competitor reviews and Post Campaign Analysis where necessary
  • Have an understanding of all other communications channels so you can articulate integrated strategies with confidence
  • Liaise with our key account managers in each of the social platforms so that you are fully knowledgeable on all the latest social offerings and ensure you leverage these opportunities for the client

Skills & Experience required:

  • 3 – 4 years previous experience in social media strategy, planning and buying with a strong understanding of the relevant business manager platforms, ad serving technologies and campaign tracking.
  • Strong experience in social media strategic thinking.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and an excellent understanding of the digital ecosystem
  • Exceptional and proven track record of client management and communication skills
  • Overall a passion & knowledge of social media and interested in all aspects of digital – must have an active user and evangelist of social media
