Social Media Account Executive

As a Social Media Account Executive in OMD, you will play a critical role within a key client team taking responsibility for the delivery of social media campaigns for a number of key clients, participating in the creation of brilliant work and delivering exceptional client service.

Under the guidance of the Social Media Content Strategist and the Head of Digital, you will work closely with the social media team and specialist functions (such as programmatic, display, above the line media) to manage consistent and excellent execution of social strategies.

You will be expected to embrace OMD’s approach of ‘Better Decisions Faster’; always striving to deliver more effective and innovative campaigns for our clients. You will be supported by the wider social media team in OMD who have strong knowledge and experience managing award winning social media campaigns.

OMD Ireland’s client teams operate in an integrated structure, with digital specialists working closely with members of the team who manage above the line media. Your role is to work with the wider social team to execute social media campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up, optimising and management of social media campaigns across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, SnapChat, Instagram and Pinterest as well as monitoring performance and ensuring best practice for clients

• Schedule and compile strategic reviews, social listening reports, competitor reviews and end of campaign reports.

• Support your colleagues on the day to day management of each account ensuring best practice is being adhered to and client targets are met, adding value with innovative ideas and campaign suggestions.

• Assisting in blogger outreach and profiling influential bloggers and online communities.

• Work with the Social and Digital team on producing monthly plans.

• Take responsibility for the finance process for each of the clients you work across.

Skills & Experience required:

• Strong analytical capabilities

• Excellent understanding of the digital ecosystem specifically paid social media and platforms: Facebook business manager etc

• Creativity

• Previous experience in social media management and content development


• Passionate about social media

• An instinctive desire to exceed expectations (clients and management) and deliver cutting-edge strategies

• Ability to build strong relations with colleagues, clients, network partners and external agencies

• Strong communication skills

• Can demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail
