Position Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the planning team as a Comms Director and lead the planning across some of our agency leading clients. As Comms Director you will be tasked with playing a leading role within an integrated international planning and local account teams. You will play a crucial role both in a leadership capacity whilst also ensuring outstanding day to day delivery across the business. You will have excellent people skills, be confident in leading a piece of business, demonstrate category knowledge and will look to nurture and develop talent within your remit. You will be the key client contact, so passion to achieve key results for clients is essential.

We are looking for someone who has an excellent understanding of all media, to deliver ground-breaking, commercially successful work that will delight our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering Brilliant Client Service:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Irish media landscape and an excellent knowledge of media planning requirements.
- Demonstrate strong media credentials and possess a current knowledge of industry trends.
- Place the client’s needs at the heart of all delivery, building strong, meaningful relationships with client peers.
- Lead the co-ordination and delivery of the overall media planning process, preparing and presenting response to briefs across all channels to senior clients.
- Work seamlessly with Strategy and Specialist teams to ensure brilliant thinking is turned into brilliant implementation.
- Challenge strategy and ideas to ensure they are remarkable and inspirational for our clients.
- Ensures the team continue to deliver to these standards and are learning from your example.
Being Commercially Aware:
- Accountable for the accurate upkeep and delivery of UMs financial processes.
- Understand the billing and revenue for UM and proactively bring to the attention of the leadership team monthly fluctuations, opportunities and threats.
- Provide timely and accurate billings projections each month to the agency leads.
- Identify opportunities and build strategic recommendation alongside specialist business units to grow revenue for UM.
Driving Better Momentum:
- Identify opportunities to provide thought-leadership and build content for external and internal PR.
- Alongside the UM leadership team develop and implement a learning agenda for your team and client.
- Input in the development of and review UMs client action plans.
- Collaborate and build close working relationships with third parties and media owners to bring innovation and new solutions to UM.
Inspiring Leadership:
- Leading by example, encourage your team to attend and contribute to agency events & initiatives.
- Inspire, coach and guide teams in the delivery of fantastic work and the transformation of the business.
- Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the work activities of the team.
Desired Skills & Experience
- You are comfortable leading meetings and presentations in front of stakeholders.
- You have experience in managing a team and enabling the development of those around you and enjoy creating a positive environment for others to thrive in.
- You are experienced and well versed in all media and able to clearly articulate how communications are able to deliver a positive impact on our client’s business.
- You have strong knowledge of traditional and digital process from campaign briefing, planning, implementation, management & optimisation and reporting.
- You have great communication skills.
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills essential.
- You have a strong numerical ability with very good attention to detail.
