We are on the hunt for Account Managers to join our planning teams.

Account Manager

As an Account Manager in the planning team, you will play a critical role within the client account team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of client business, driving the creation of brilliant work and delivering exceptional client service.

Working under the guidance of the Account Director and Business Director, you will have ownership of campaign development and implementation, working closely with other departments at OMD and specialist functions to manage consistent execution of client strategies across all plans.

You will be expected to drive both commercial opportunities for the agency and the delivery of best in class work for our clients. Through your role as manager you will be key in developing our future talent.

Specific skills related to this role

• Excellent written & oral communication & presentation skills, including the ability to think on your feet.

• Mnium of 2 years’ experience within the media or marketing industry with an emphasis on strategic planning.

• Ability to take a client brief independently and develop a response from start to finish

• Able to collate and curate detailed insights from multiple sources to fuel planning and strategy

• Proven ability to build strong and mutually beneficial working relationships, across your team, peers, media owners and clients

• Understand, in detail, all critical industry and OMD planning tools, to a level where you can confidently teach others

• Understand the role of each channel, including relative cost efficiencies, audience delivery, and can apply this knowledge to set campaign budgets

• Understand how key research methodologies are used to measure media and campaign effectiveness, including econometrics

• Good understanding of various industry categories and be capable of applying that knowledge to inform recommendations and new ideas to clients and team members alike.

• Clear understanding of a client’s business objectives; and a detailed understanding of their key business performance metrics (website traffic; conversions etc.)

• Project Manage from start to finish on small to medium sized briefs .


• Have a positive can-do attitude and be open to change

• Write and deliver presentations that have a strong and compelling narrative, with clear insights and implications for our clients

• Communicate with clients, media owners & other roster agencies in a way that can influence and persuade, managing any difficult conversations in a professional manner

• Clearly and succinctly brief and collaboratively work with other OMG departments

• Be self-aware and aware of others’ needs, adapting to different individuals and situations in a calm and mature manner

• Be ambassador for OMD, your team and the work, both internally and externally

Client Relationships

• Have a proven ability to proactively build strong relationships directly with clients and be their first port of call for all day to day matters.

• Develop a deep understanding of your clients’ business visions, brand & marketing strategies and be familiar with historical activity, learnings and future plans.

• Regular and error-free updating and monitoring of all client plans, annual laydowns, media bookings and finance admin

• Implement full finance process being able to solve escalated queries / problems quickly and efficiently while also constantly evaluating ways to streamline / improve. Helping to deliver our goal of zero aged debt

• Develop a broad understanding of your client’s world, the challenges and opportunities facing their business, their competitors, their consumers/customers, how they make money and their personal KPIs

• Confidently manage client expectations

• Develop viewpoints and generate debate with clients as appropriate

• Contribute to pitches, new business and agency marketing

• Take responsibility for, and pride in the quality of your own work and that of the team

• Be highly organized and proactively manage workloads to ensure team output is delivered on time and to the highest standard

• Deliver responses to brief and presentations that are of an excellent standard and error-free

• Be a team player by thinking ahead to pre-empt and proactively manage any issues that may arise
