Join IAPI and IPSOS B&A on Wednesday, 5th March to learn more about how damaging gender stereotypes effect society as a whole, and how we can address them within our industry.
We’ll be joined on the day by two stellar speakers from IPSOS B&A, who will reveal thought-provoking findings from their recent work within the field of gender.
Clare Kavanagh, Director, IPSOS B&A, will bring us results of their January 2025 Irish and global research, that concluded that 56% of men agree that we have gone so far in promoting women’s equality, that we are discriminating against men. Clare will discuss, in an Irish context, what is driving often quite polarised attitudes towards gender, and how we need to address this in brand communications and strategy.
Davina O'Donoghue, Director, IPSOS B&A, will share insights from their 6 month study which unpicked a current movement that is shifting towards more “traditional” views of gender, including aggressive forms of masculinity. Davina will share insights on what they found, screen a short documentary and set out how we need to move on from harmful biases, such as silent strong men and average dads.
It is important that these beliefs are not amplified. When they are they can foster resistance to gender equality and reinforce regressive stereotypes. We invite members of all genders to join us for this important event, where we’ll engage in meaningful conversations about an issue that impacts everyone collectively. We would love to see a 50:50 gender balance reflected in our audience with everyone actively engaging in countering such views and supporting a healthier discourse around gender and equality.
As part of this event, we will be launching 2025's Female Futures Fund brought to you by IAPI, sponsored by Guinness and Baileys - the bursary is designed to accelerate women into senior roles, ensuring that we retain and promote our best female talent.
We will host a panel discussion moderated by Anna Doyle, Board Director, Starcom, and IAPI Board member, who will share more information about the 2025 application process and lead the Q&A.
Anna will be joined by our sponsors Linda Bradley, Head of Planning and Insights, Diageo Ireland and Áine Kavanagh, Marketing Manager, Baileys Global Brand Team who will be sharing the important role that true DEI and gender balance plays in creating effective marketing and why the Female Futures Fund is such an important initiative as it enters its 6th year.
We also welcome a past participant of the coaching programme - Alex Ingarfield, Creative Director, Droga5 Dublin - who will be sharing her personal insights into what applicants should expect and the impact the programme has.
And we’ll be joined on the panel by Finian Murphy, Marketing Director with Core who recently collaborated with Women's Aid Ireland and Allianz Ireland on the ‘Dead Flower Shop’ project informed by the research report - 'Evolving Manhood'.
Female Futures Fund 2025 will officially open for applications following this event on 5th March.
