The event will draw from a treasure trove of 2000 rolls of film salvaged, catalogued and painstakingly restored by the IFI Irish Film Archive Team. 

This will be a unique opportunity to view classic advertising for iconic brands from an era when Irish advertising agencies and production companies were enjoying a new self-confidence in expressing the aspirations of the nation.

The IFI Irish Film Archive will provide an insight into the conservation processes that resulted in the creation of this important advertising archive. There will also be the opportunity to learn how you can participate in safeguarding the archive for the generations to come.  

This a special event for anyone involved in Irish advertising from the past or the present. RE-STORY will reconnect us with the creators and producers of the seminal work that shaped the foundations of the Irish advertising industry and map the creative milestones that has led to where it is today.

Format of the Event

The overwhelming positive public reaction to the recently released IFI Irish Adverts Project on the IFI Player, demonstrated a deep affection for Irish advertising as part of the shared national memory. RE-STORY will include a new selection of work restored to its original glory and presented on a large screen format, never seen before. The work will be curated by John Fanning and Pearse McCaughey

There will be a Panel Discussion with plenty of time for Q&A with Peter Brady Kinsale Sharks, Barry Devlin formerly of Arks, Mal Stevenson, formerly of Irish International, Carol Lambert, Creative Director Publicis and Roisin Keown Head of Creative DDFH&B.
