Advertising Stands Up To Harassment marks the launch of our People Protection Pledge for all IAPI members.
Earlier this summer, shocking stories of workplace harassment in the UK Advertising Industry led IAPI to reach out to their members on this issue.
Although an in-depth study has not taken place, based on the anecdotes provided, workplace harassment in the Irish industry is not as prevalent as it appears in the UK. However, there are still a concerning number of people who have experienced sexual or cultural harassment and bullying in the workplace, from colleagues, clients and suppliers.
IAPI members directly employ over 2000 people and, as the industry body, IAPI’s role is to help members provide a diverse, inclusive, and safe work environment across the industry.
We already provide all member employees with access to smash which is the IAPI Employee Assistance Programme kindly brought to you by TABS and Spectrum.Life. As part of that programme Spectrum.Life provide access to help, advice, counselling and legal support for anyone suffering from workplace harassment.
This goal of this webinar is to raise awareness of these issues and educate members as to what now constitutes harassment at work.
We will launch the PEOPLE PROTECTION PLEDGE and encourage sign up from industry leaders to demonstrate their support in obliterating any such behaviours within our industry.
We will be joined by a keynote speaker from Safe Ireland who will educate and advise participants on the subjects of harassment, workplace micro aggressions, identifying inappropriate behaviours and the skills required to deal with such issues.
We will also host a panel discussion with a representative from the Department of Justice and their partner agency TBWA, who worked on the recent "No Excuses" campaign.
