The National Transport Authority have reduced train, tram and bus fares on the Transport for Ireland network. So to announce the great news for Ireland’s commuters, TBWA\Dublin created a bright, cheery campaign to spread the word and to remind everyone about the cleaner, greener, and now cheaper benefits of travelling on the TFI public transport network.

For many commuters, fares will be reduced by 20% on average on the Transport for Ireland network, and by up to 50% for commuters with the young adult & student card – fairly substantial savings, in fairness! The campaign airs on TV, radio, and is supported through Transport for Ireland social channels.

“This is fairly big news for commuters, so fair play to TFI to begin with” said Mikey Ryan, Senior Art Director at TBWA/Dublin, “the creative challenge was to deliver this simple message in a clear, direct and ultimately, light-hearted, way. We wanted to deliver one constant across all modes of transport – in this case the message of fares being reduced. So, using a locked-off camera technique, we’re taken on a fun journey of ways and reasons to travel – with big savings to enjoy along the way.”

Aoife McCarthy, Account Director, TBWA/Dublin – “Once again, Rubberduck handled the production, continuing a rich vein of really well shot, excellently produced work for us on behalf of TFI. We’re all delighted with the outcome, and as a regular user of public transport (now making bigger savings every trip to Waterford!) it was an added pleasure to work on this campaign”.
