What do we do?
IAPI Futureheads Council is made up of a group of passionate people dedicated to developing and retaining young talent across our industry, our work falls into 4 main pillars:
Representing Under 30s + Welcoming New Recruits
Advertising is traditionally a young industry with over 45% of our IAPI members’ employees being 30 years old or under. So to provide representation to these future leaders we set up Futureheads with a focus on ensuring that those who recently started their career in this industry have a voice - and that those voices gets heard.
Information + Integration
Ensuring we provide clear and valuable material to inform and meet the needs of the young workforce. In addition, we will continue the STEPS Mentor Programme in collaboration with the Marketing Society’s Future Council; this exists to help industry talent, either new to or looking to join the industry, thrive.
Development + Networking
Development starts with increasing awareness of our industry with students. We will be working to provide forums where students can speak with people already working in Media, Creative, Client Services, Technology and Digital, where they can find out how the industry works, the different roles available and have all of their questions answered. Various other initiatives within this space for IAPI employees will be planned.
The event highlight of the year is the summer party where everyone from all agencies is invited, more details to come on this soon so watch this space! Information + Integration Ensuring we provide clear and valuable material to inform and meet the needs of the young workforce. In addition, we will continue the STEPS Mentor Programme in collaboration with the Marketing Society’s Future Council; this exists to help industry talent, either new to or looking to join the industry, thrive.
Motivation + Participation
Finally, we speak to today’s leaders to understand what will be needed for and from tomorrow’s leaders. We strive to meet each of the agency Managing Directors to discuss what we can do for their young workforce. Motivation is at the heart of this as we know that a happy, valued employee is much more likely to stay with us.
Jenna Greene, IAPI Futureheads Chair, said: "I am delighted to be the new IAPI Futureheads Chair and very excited to work alongside such a talented team to promote and elevate our industry. The role of our Futureheads Council is to provide thought leadership, guidance and networking opportunities to our young professionals and to ensure their voice is heard across the industry. I am currently looking for 6 new members to join the team to help develop and deliver on the vision of Futureheads for 2025; if you have a passion to get involved in any of the work we do and bring our new initiatives to life, please get in touch."
It is important that the committee is representative of the industry in terms of the different disciplines and the different agencies. For this reason, we would like to especially encourage applicants from creative and/or event agencies. All applicants should submit a short bio, headshot and description of how their skillset and experience would make them a suitable candidate, by email to jenna.greene@omnicommediagroup.com.
New council members will be announced by 7th February.
