For the fifth year running, Iapi has teamed up with Business in the Community to encourage students to consider our industry as a viable career option through the World of Work Programme. Following on from last month's sustainability session with second-year students from Holy Child NS, Sallynoggin, we were joined by five Iapi member representatives to deliver the third programme module, “A Day in the Life.”
The programme gives 2nd-year students the chance to meet corporate volunteers and learn about the world of work. It opens up conversations around the many types of roles within modern workplaces, inspiring young people to stay in education and make informed decisions about their futures.
The workshop saw volunteers from across Iapi member agencies share their day-to-day roles, workplaces, and individual career journeys with students. Iapi thanks Alex Yaklyushyna (PHD Media), Angela Tafalla (Havas Media Ireland), Ava Power (Forsman & Bodenfors), Michael Poufong (Core) and Sharon Ojo (Havas Media Ireland) for generously sharing their time and expertise.
"It's been a pleasure to be part of the IAPI BITC World of Work Programme. It's such a lovely initiative to engage with students and give them a broader view of advertising and the industry — something I'd have appreciated having when I was in their position.” Angela Tafalla, Havas Media
Iapi are now seeking two Iapi member agencies to host 15 students each for the next session - the company site visit. These visits are scheduled for early February 2026.
If your agency has not participated before, or would like to get involved again, please contact keith@iapi.com to discuss volunteering.
