Dentsu and Dynamo host 2nd year Students through the BiTC World of Work Programme

For the fourth year running, IAPI have teamed up with Business in The Community to roll out the World of Work programme to 2nd year students in Holy Child N.S. Sallynoggin. This programme is an early intervention initiative developed specifically for this age group.

The involvement of IAPI and our members encourages students to consider our industry as a viable career option. Previous sessions in the programme were themed around industry, creativity, sustainability, and included a school visit by IAPI members who chatted with students about their individual roles and career paths.

Dentsu hosted half of the students on Thursday, 27th February in their offices on Haddington Road. Senior management sat and spoke with them, opening their eyes to the workings of a media agency and the viability of an agency career. The team kindly allowed them to sit in on a Sky TV sales presentation which gave them a view of the media landscape and allowed them to see that theory in practice.

It was an invaluable experience - IAPI and Business in the Community express our thanks to the entire team in dentsu (and Sky) for accommodating the students.

This is such a fantastic initiative. I left the session with my heart a little bigger – beautiful kids and such a great opportunity to show our business to them as a career option.” Dael Wood (Strategic Consulting Director – dentsu)

The remainder of the students were hosted by Dynamo earlier this week, introducing them to a career in a creative design agency. The team allowed students to work with the creative department on an actual brief which resulted in some very interesting creative executions!

We were delighted to get involved and our team really enjoyed it. They were a really bright & engaged bunch also – which helped!” – Roisin Ni Raighne (MD - Dynamo)

We acknowledge that the execution of a programme like Business in the Community's World of Work would not be possible without the exceptional engagement, energy and enthusiasm of our IAPI members. Thank you for taking part.
