BiTC & IAPI roll out Second Level School Mentoring Programme

Business Action on Education is a nationwide initiative that aims to develop mutually beneficial partnerships between schools and businesses in Ireland which support the Government’s overall strategy on educational inclusion.

We are thrilled to announce that we launched our mentoring programme on Thursday the 12th of November with 11 Mentors from the IAPI membership and 11 students form the Holy Child Community School in Sallynoggin.

The Student Mentoring Programme provides students with a mentor from the world of work and aims to provide -

•An additional support to help a student through the final years of school

•A sounding board for career ideas

•Help to investigate career paths

•Someone to listen and help with skill development, CVs and mock interviews.

•An opportunity to communicate on an adult level with professionals in the working world

•Promotes self-esteem

•Develops an awareness of the workplace

•Improves social and communication skills

This initiative is only made possible by the support and time donated by you our members. Our mentors hail from a multiple of agencies and we are truly appreciative to them for donating their time and expertise to such a worthy cause.
