In February this year, IAPI undertook their biennial review of pitch consulting companies and individuals. Consultants were asked to apply for accreditation and provide detailed information on their expertise, processes, evaluation methodology, technology and research tools and confirm their agreement and adherence to the latest IAPI Pitch Guidelines.

These guidelines were published earlier this year and are also supported by the Advertising Association in Ireland (AAI) and The Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII).

We all know that the success of a great brand depends on a great client/agency partnership. At its best this relationship is an active partnership of collaboration and transparency. But relationships change and clients may require a change for a variety of reasons. Of course, the ultimate objective of the pitching process is relatively simple. It’s about forging an effective relationship with a business partner to grow and develop your brand in the years ahead.

However, if you are about to embark on choosing an agency, it can be complex and making a wrong decision can be costly in terms of time and money for all concerned.

“That is why IAPI accreditation has become increasingly important as, by working to an agreed set of pitch guidelines, there is clarity around the process and this helps marketers and agencies alike”, says Charley Stoney, CEO, IAPI. “Pitch Consultants exist to help you to make the best decision for your business, and all IAPI accredited consultants conform to a set of quality standards and benchmarks to help you choose the right agency.”
