For the 4th year running IAPI have teamed up with Business in The Community to roll out the World of Work programme to 2nd year students in Holy Child N.S. Sallynoggin.
This programme is an early intervention initiative specifically developed for this age group. The involvement of IAPI and our Members encourages students to consider our industry as a viable career option. The program comprises of six separate school engagements themed around Creativity, Sustainability, A Day in the Life, Site Visits and Soft Skill Development.
The Day in the Life session took place this week on Thursday, 16th of January. We were delighted to attend with 6 IAPI member employees -
Pippa Durham (Mindshare)
Darragh O Connor (Droga 5)
Zsofi Toth (Dentsu)
Chelsie Jones (Davis Events)
Maurvi Narvekar (Group M)
Wojciech Karatysz (TBWA)
“Holy Child Community School has worked in collaboration with IAPI and BiTC over the last four years through the Mentoring and World of Work programmes. We have already had students choose to study third level courses and further ed courses around advertising, media studies, illustration, and animation inspired by the mentoring programme. These 2nd year students are currently on the World of Work programme and have already worked with experts within industry which will assist students in establishing targets and goals to work towards.” Owen McGowan – Guidance Counsellor.
We will be looking for IAPI members to host these students for agency site visits. These are scheduled to take place in February, and Keith will be seeking collaborators for these sessions over the coming weeks.
