Awarding Europe's Boldest and Most Creative Work

Eurobest, celebrating Europe’s most groundbreaking creativity, has today revealed the line-up of experts selected to award the region’s very best creative and effective work for 2024. Juries will convene in London later this November to participate in live judging.

Alongside revealing the inaugural Creative B2B Jury line-up, led by Sarah Higgins, Managing Director PR and EMEA & APAC Marketing, State Street Global Advisors, Eurobest welcomes the first representative from Iceland this year, Thorleifur Gunnar Gíslason, Design Director, Brandenburg Creative Agency, Reykjavík, Iceland. Gíslason’s work mainly specialises in branding, but he has received many accolades in both the graphic and product design space. Most recently, his team at Brandenburg was awarded Iceland’s first-ever Lion at Cannes Lions 2024.

This year also sees the highest representation of creatives from Central Eastern Europe, with 11 Jurors representing markets Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. Brands and platforms represented this year include Google, Mars Petcare, Netflix, Nike, Samsung Electronics, StarNews Mobile, TikTok and TV 2 Denmark.

About the Jury, Simon Cook, CEO, LIONS, said: “We are delighted to announce such an exceptional line-up of talent and experts who bring so much commitment and expertise to the important task at hand. Our Jurors play a vital role in setting the creative benchmark for Europe and we are delighted to see representation from a broad range of agencies, brands and companies – including many for the first time – allowing a diverse range of voices in the Jury rooms. We wish them luck and look forward to seeing the body of work that will emerge following their discussions.”

From an Irish perspective, we will be represented by Sandra Alvarez, Managing Director with Spark Foundry and Board Director in Core. Throughout her career, Sandra has worked with global brands such as Mondelez, Procter & Gamble, Meta, and KFC, as well as Irish organizations like the Road Safety Authority and the HSE. She has won over fifty media awards for the best use of media, creative media solutions, and brand effectiveness.

As a judge, Sandra has contributed to prestigious global and European panels, including the Global Festival of Media and the Global Effies, and has also served as a board member of the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland.

Sandra Alvarez commented; "It is a privilege to join the Media Jury of Eurobest. Thank you to Eurobest and IAPI for nominating me. I'm looking forward to working with the entire team in Eurobest and my fellow Media judges. It is a great opportunity to celebrate work that inspires us all."
