IAPI are pleased to announce our superb line-up of judges for the first round of judging for Effie Awards Ireland 2023.

Effie is a global forum that exists to lead, inspire and champion both the practice and practitioners of marketing effectiveness. The awards are open to all agencies and brands that want to be recognised for their most effective marketing efforts that made a difference and achieved real, measurable results.

Damian Devaney, Senior Partner, TBV Global says “Access to the Effies is an opportunity for Irish agencies to be part of a recognised global framework that champions effectiveness of creativity. And at 50 years old, it is a tried and trusted methodology. More importantly, It’s an opportunity for agencies to clearly demonstrate the impact they, and the clients marketing departments, can have on an organisations performance. The framework seeks clarity of objective setting, powerful insight development, strategic clarity and effective execution. It’s about delivering results and I value the opportunity to serve as a jury chair and to support great Irish creativity.”

Damian, having spent his career building brands for Coca Cola, Diageo, O2 and Smurfitt Kappa, is the overall Jury Chair for Effie Awards Ireland. Having served as a global Effie judge for Best of the Best and previously fulfilling the role of Jury Chair for Effie Awards Ireland 2021, Devaney brings a wealth of experience and insight to advise this year’s new jury.

Charley Stoney, CEO, IAPI says “This year to recognise the expertise now built up in the Irish market on Effies, we have included more Irish agency and brand professionals in Round 1 judging. This is a wonderful chance to raise the standards even further within Ireland as our local jury members will subsequently be invited to judge at an international level. The Effie Awards Ireland Round 2 jury which we will announce later in the summer will include more international guests who will be making the final awarding decision on the shortlisted entries following Round 1.”

The Effie Awards Ireland jury will look at a wide range of qualities in each campaign and will evaluate entries based on proof that communications depicted in the entry were key to the success of the campaign. These qualities are summarised into four categories:

  • Strategic Challenge
  • Creative Strategy
  • Bringing the Idea to Life
  • Effectiveness

The second entry deadline is today Friday 12th May and the FINAL entry deadline is Friday 2nd June.
