In recent weeks, IAPI participated in two graduation ceremonies that reflect our continued commitment to professional development and early career engagement within the creative communications industry.
From the awarding of degrees in TU Dublin's MSc in Creative Commercial Communications to the graduation of second-year students from the Business in the Community - World of Work programme, these milestones highlight the importance of education, industry collaboration, and talent development across experience levels.
The MSc in Creative Commercial Communications represents a strategic collaboration between TU Dublin and IAPI, developed with significant input from both industry leaders and academic experts. This programme is designed to deliver career-oriented professional development for practitioners in the creative commercial communications sector. It equips participants with the strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities required to thrive in today’s dynamic advertising and communications landscape.
IAPI attended the graduation ceremony at TU Dublin’s Tallaght campus, where the achievements of several industry professionals were celebrated. Graduates included Simeon O’Neill (Commercial Designer, RTÉ), Kevin Thornton (formerly of Folk VML, now Associate Director at Castor), and Mark Evans (Strategic Communications Specialist, Department of Finance), all of whom were awarded the MSc in Creative Commercial Communications. You can read more about Simeon and Mark’s experiences here.
Over 30 second-year students graduated from the World of Work programme in March - an initiative developed in partnership with Business in the Community Ireland. This nationwide programme connects students with corporate volunteers from local companies, offering early exposure to the professional world. Through direct conversations and practical insights, students gain a clearer understanding of various career paths, empowering them to stay in education, make informed choices, and build self-confidence.
Now in its fifth year, the partnership between IAPI and Holy Child Community School, Sallynoggin continues to go from strength to strength. Alison Norman, Business in the Community said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Keith from IAPI and Mr. McGowan for delivering and organising such a super programme. We look forward to many more years of partnership.”
This year’s World of Work programme was made possible thanks to the ongoing support of IAPI’s member agencies. We extend our sincere thanks to Dynamo, Dentsu, Droga5 Dublin, Davis Events Agency, GroupM, and TBWA\Ireland for their invaluable contributions and engagement with the students. Their time, mentorship, and commitment continue to inspire the next generation of talent.
