Folk Wunderman Thompson, the Dublin based creative agency, has secured a three-year extension to its current contract with leading energy and services provider Bord Gáis Energy. As part of the contract extension, Folk will provide strategic and creative services helping Bord Gáis Energy to continue transforming their offering, repositioning them from a company that offers energy to one that provides energy and solutions to its customers.

Together with WPP network colleagues in the UK and US, Folk established the ‘Team Nucleus’ agency model in Ireland to win the Centrica business across all three markets in 2019. Since been awarded the contract, Folk have been leading Ireland’s Team Nucleus for Bord Gáis Energy in this market, alongside Mindshare Ireland.

Working closely and collaboratively with the client team, Folk Wunderman Thompson have played a fundamental role in Bord Gáis Energy’s brand transformation, developing the Imagine a Better Way brand platform.

The brand campaign was developed as a result of clear consumer insights relating to brand perception brand that which needed to be addressed – energy customers had a misconception that Bord Gáis Energy were exclusively a commodity supplier In truth, it is a company that offers much more than energy and in order to challenge this perception and demonstrate that Bord Gáis Energy is a brand of brilliant possibilities, ‘Imagine a Better Way’ was the first step on a major transformational journey for Bord Gáis Energy, aiming to be a support to customers on their journey towards more sustainable living.

Folk’s scope of work includes strategic planning and the development of brand and tactical communication campaigns across TV, print, online, social and digital media.
