On the 29 November, IAPI were delighted to play host to keynote speaker, Moninne Griffith, CEO of BeLonG To Youth Services, Ireland’s national LGBTI+ youth organisation.

The landscape of Ireland has changed for members of the LGBTI+ community over the past few decades from the decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1993 to the vote for Marriage Equality for same-sex couples in 2015.

With these changes, some people may wonder if there is a need to support the LGBTI+ community. Moninne delved into issues facing LGBTI+ youth today and shared the impact of storytelling, engaging allies, language and examining our own implicit bias.

In addition to this, it was also an opportunity to learn more about the 2020 #ComeIn Campaign Plans and how your company or agency can support this important message.

This year we’re giving people a way of showing that they’ve come in. A symbol. An icon. A statement. A t-shirt. A badge. A mural. A promise.
