Who is it for?
Portfolio Lab will be of massive benefit to recent graduates and final year students of any creative discipline (advertising, animation, design, media technology courses etc.) who have an advertising or design portfolio.
Why should you attend?
To get yourself and your portfolio in front of leading Irish Creative Directors.
This is your opportunity to cut through all of those emails and phone calls it usually takes to meet with, show your work to and gain constructive feedback from the superstars of Irish advertising and design.

34 Creative Directors of the leading full service, digital and design agencies as well as rising stars of the industry.

How does it work?
Each participant, of a maximum of 60, gets to speed date with 3 different Creative Directors and a chance to socialise and network with others in the breaks. The whole event is geared towards getting you creative feedback to make your portfolio even better, helping you get interview ready and introducing you to industry folk.
When you arrive on the night you will be given a time slot and schedule of portfolio reviews based on your requirements at the booking phase. Don’t worry if there is a particular person you want to meet with who isn’t on your schedule, we’ll try to introduce you at the end.
You also have an additional opportunity to make a lasting impression by working on a real-time brief for Portfolio Lab ahead of the event for the chance to win a two week summer placement at Ogilvy Dublin. The brief is to produce one execution to clearly communicate an idea on how to position Portfolio Lab as the top creative event to get into the advertising industry. Bring your idea on paper with you on the night and our Creative Directors will select a winner. Download the brief here
What you will need:
1. An advertising or design portfolio
Get your best work together to a maximum of 15 pieces / campaigns (bear in mind you will have 15 minutes with each Creative Director). The work you show should represent your skills and creative thinking. You can show any work that an advertising or design creative might deliver, whether it be apps, press, identity, radio, guerilla or something your agencies haven’t thought of yet!
You can showcase your portfolio however you like; hard case or digitally (laptop, iPad etc). There are things to consider if you have a digitally hosted portfolio.
- Be ready as soon as you sit down with a creative director - everything should be loaded up and ready to go.
- Make sure everything you need is hosted on your computer and don’t be dependent on Wi-Fi.
- Make sure you’re charged up enough to get you through the evening. Pack a spare battery if necessary.
2. Confirmation of booking email to gain access on the night.
3. Pen & paper to make notes of feedback you receive about your portfolio.
4. Business cards & CV’s that you can hand out and leave with Creative Directors.
