IAPI AGM and a challenge How can we rebalance the relationship between agency and client?
Thursday 22nd November
Carolan Room, The National Concert Hall.
Free to attend, all welcome.
The AGM and elections to the board are combined with lunch and a talk designed to be provocative. Come along, meet colleagues from other agencies and prepare to be challenged.
David Wethey is known to many of you as Chairman of Agency Assessments in the UK, an agency search and relationship consultancy.
Amongst the ideas David is currently putting into practice in the UK is pitches that do not involve agencies giving away any free creative. He’ll look at a number of ways in which agencies can transform their business including:
• Rethinking how they charge clients
• Creating or co-creating IP with their clients and getting a stake on the upside
• A new way of pitching that doesn’t involve free creative work
and examples from the UK showing it can be done.
A flavour of his approach can be found here and here. David blogs at least once a week on www.makingbetterdecisionsbetter.com and also monthly on the Marketing Society blog: http://blog.marketing-soc.org.uk/.
