Financial Services advertising - the do, the don'ts

Verona Hanlon will give an overview of the Central Bank code and where advertising campaigns are falling foul. This is followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Irish advertising agencies.

The panel includes representatives from agencies with leading clients in the financial services category:  Ray Sheerin, Managing Director of Chemistry and Dylan Cotter, Creative Director with Irish International. It will be chaired by Padraig Burns, Managing Director of Publicis.

Topics include:

The need for advertising agency staff to be aware of the regulatory context in which their clients operate.

A discussion of  problematic areas such as

• the cost of changes
• long and large type terms and conditions
• problems in specific media
• what happens in other sectors i.e. alcohol advertising pre-clearance
• are there ways we might make the process work more efficiently
