In today’s always-on world of brand dialogue where many more voices matter, brands that thrive are those that genuinely engage influential and connected customers and stakeholders with relevant and timely content. As the lines in marcomms blur and successful practitioners adopt the skills and pace of earned media, the centre of gravity is shifting towards the digitally-savvy CCO who can react to the dynamics of real-time brand narrative.
Sam Knowles is founder and MD of corporate and brand storytellers Insight Agents. He is a passionate advocate of using intelligent understanding of digital and social media content to provide both the fuel and the context for impactful brand engagement. He argues that strategists and brand owners should consider the limits of traditional planning models and devote more time and headspace to the merits of a storytelling approach.

Insight Agents was founded in 2013 by Sam Knowles, who is the Managing Director.
Sam combines long and varied PR agency experience with a planner’s facility for turning relevant data into campaigns and narratives that resonate and deliver. For a one-time PR man - with more than 25 years in corporate and consumer communications for global clients - he has unusually rich analytics experience.
Before creating Insight Agents, Sam was Group Director, Strategic Planning at WCG Europe, and immediately prior the UK MD of Echo Research, the earned media subsidiary of Ebiquity. He has also held strategic planning and business development leadership roles at Salt, Kaizo and Fleishman-Hillard.
Sam has a doctorate in Experimental Psychology, a source of both his understanding of human motivation and behaviour and his love of telling stories with data. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Public Relations Consultants’ Association and the international Association for the Measurement & Evaluation of Communication.
