In 2017, Ireland will send seven teams of young creatives to Cannes Lions. This is the largest number of Young Lions ever fielded by Ireland in the 60 year history of the festival. Teams will compete in the national heats in Ireland in February/March 2017.
IAPI, thanks to our generous sponsors, will provide the 14 competition winners with an all expenses paid trip to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, 17 – 24 June 2017 including a Young Lions full week festival pass, flights Dublin/Nice, accommodation, and access to all the Cannes seminars, award ceremonies, showcases and material.
When you arrive in Cannes you compete in the international heat of your competition against the best young creative talent in the world – so no pressure then!
If you win, you get up on the stage at gala night in front of thousands of people, and will probably get a big pay increase from your impressed boss!
The winning work is also available to the charities to incorporate into their marketing campaigns.

Who can enter?
You must be under 30, born on or after 25 June 1986 and resident in Ireland. Please note the competitions are not open to students. (Cannes Lions rules unfortunately).In addition, certain competitions are only open to certain agencies. Please note you can only enter ONE category.
- Cyber (IAPI member agencies only; creative, media or digital)
- Media (IAPI media member agencies only and those digital member agencies who buy media)
- Print (IAPI member agencies only)
- Film (IAPI creative member agencies only)
- Design (Freelance or in house designers (member/non-member agencies))
- PR (PRCA and PRII members & IAPI member agencies)
- Young Marketers
To be eligible to compete in the Young Marketers competition the team must be made up
of two young professional working for client companies that engage the services of advertising and communications companies. Freelancers are not eligible to compete in Young Marketers.
For some of the competitions there is a charge of €75 per team for to enter. Details of payment will be listed on each individual category page once they are published. When entering please ensure you do not include any brand/logo identifying your agency in your work. This rule does not apply to the Young Marketers competition.
