Mark Nutley began his advertising career with O'Connor O'Sullivan before moving to Javelin, the Helme Partnership and Irish International. Along the way he has accumulated some grey hairs and a host of awards including Sharks, ICADs, EPICAs and two Cannes nominations.

He has originated domestic and global campaigns for amongst others Aviva, Electric Ireland, Kerrygold, Barry’s Tea and Independent Newspapers. He has also worked with clients such as Bank of Ireland, Newstalk, Toyota and Carlsberg.

He is probably best known in the industry for his work on Guinness, including the creation of their iconic Christmas TV commercial which has now run for over 10 years. In 2014 he was appointed Creative Director at Irish International, a member of the BBDO Group.

Mark is also a former President of the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design (ICAD).

Why me and IAPI?

I am always keen to raise the awareness of the effectiveness of better creative work. I believe good work works well but better works brilliantly. I would like to help IAPI bring this message to the client base.

I would also like to use my term to develop ways that the Irish creative commercial industries can compete and win more international business, run out of Ireland. To see this hub of creativity, acknowledged in so many other areas like music and film, to achieve more on the international stage in creative marketing.

But if I could only help IAPI achieve one thing in my time on the Board, it would be to help get marketing back into the boardroom of Irish business. So that we can talk more directly to the decision makers and do work that is more innovative and ambitious.
