Group Digital Managing Director, OMD
With 15 years' media experience, Garret has worked across multiple categories in creative, digital and stand-alone media agencies in the US and Ireland and is now Group Digital Managing Director at Omnicom Media Group. Starting as a digital planner at Agency.com in San Francisco in 1999 he then moved to a cross media role at Initiative in New York.
Returning to Ireland in 2004 Garret joined Chemistry, where he led the media offering, and joined MediaCom as an Account Director on traditional media. Returning to his digital roots he joined Omnicom Media Group (OMD & PHD) in 2011 and was appointed as Group Board Director in 2014.
Representing IAPI on the Joint IAB Industry Committee on Viewability and as member of the IAB Video Council he is very involved in promoting and developing the Irish digital media industry. Passionate about how technology is shaping the advertising industry Garret is on the advisory board of a number of adtech startups.
He is a UCD BA (Hons) graduate with a M.Sc. in Irish History from The University of Edinburgh.
Having worked in both traditional and digital media in creative, digital and media agencies in the US and Ireland, I would bring a wealth of agency experience and varied perspectives to the Board of IAPI.
As a Board Director a particular focus would be on promoting education and the development of standards in digital media. I would also work to ensure that a career in an advertising agency is seen as the best option for the brightest talent seeking a career in digital media.
