In 2014 we introduced the inaugural IAPI Doyenne Award, created to champion women currently in management positions, who are being identified in their field as future industry leaders.
Our research shows that women make up only 18% at CEO/Managing Director level in Irish advertising agencies in 2015. It was 13% in 2013. So we are making progress. However, we lag behind our UK counterparts where women make up 27.3%.

Doyenne Award Applications
Applications come from the senior/middle echelons of management in either agencies or media owners, and from any of the following job roles: Creative, Strategic, Client Services, Creative Services, HR, New Business, PR, Media Buying, Media Planning, Media Sales or Brand Management. Strategic Planning and Media Sales. This annual award is announced on International Women’s Day.
You should already be demonstrating leadership qualities, although it is unlikely you will already be board level (although exceptions would be made for smaller companies). Equally you will be significantly more experienced than graduate level.
“The IAPI Doyenne Award is, to my mind, a career-enhancing competition for women who lead by example and who will lead our industry in the future. Our industry needs a more balanced gender talent base at senior and executive level and the award is an important step towards achieving this. The successful candidates and ultimate winner will be a woman who demonstrates determination to succeed for their clients and their agency, who has exceptional skills in their chosen discipline - a future female leader of our industry”.
